Fiction & Literary Analysis
Understanding fiction requires more than following a sequence of events. Readers must examine how writers organize narratives, develop characters, establish conflicts, and use language to shape meaning.
Delphi Learning's fiction resources introduce students to the literary elements and narrative techniques through which stories are constructed. Each teaching package combines explicit instruction with close reading, textual analysis, and analytical writing.
Students learn to recognize significant narrative developments, examine the relationship between character and conflict, identify turning points, and explain how particular details contribute to a work's larger meaning.
The collection includes teaching materials for short stories and, as it develops, longer works of fiction. Resources are designed for secondary-school English Language Arts classrooms in Canada and the United States, with an emphasis on evidence-based interpretation and independent literary analysis.
A GROWING COLLECTION
Delphi Learning Press is developing a growing collection of English Language Arts resources for Canadian secondary classrooms.
The collection will expand across reading and literary analysis, writing and composition, research and critical literacy, and communication and media.
Resources are designed to work individually while also forming connected learning sequences that move students from comprehension toward interpretation, analysis, and effective writing.
